Getting started

  • Before starting to edit content on this site you will have to familiarise yourself with the basics of using wiki websites. The Help Section at the Wikipedia website is a good place to start for the uninitiated.
  • The MediaWiki Handbook on is another good resource to familiarise yourself on the basics of using MediaWiki, the program which runs this site.

Getting involved

If you feel confident about your wiki editing skills then you can start getting involved in content creation on the CommunityHealthIndia wiki. Before you start you will need a user name and password which can be obtained by mailing admin[at] with a short write up about yourself.

During this testing period we will be concentrating on two small projects which are listed below. However feel free to create articles in other relevant fields of interest as well.

Students for Health is an attempt to create a a directory of sources of information, contacts and ideas for students who want to get involved in the Health For All movement but are not sure where to start.

The People’s Health Movement is a growing network of people’s organisations, civil society organisations, NGOs, social activists, health professionals, academics and researchers working to establish health and equitable development as top priorities through comprehensive primary health care and action on the social determinants of health.
